“For in Him dwells all the fullness of the Godhead bodily; and you are complete in Him, who is the head of all principality and power.” Colossians 2:9-10
This morning my wife and I were praying and worshiping our loving God. We got to singing the song about being complete in Him. It goes this way: Complete, complete, complete in Him, we are complete in Him. Not by works of righteousness but by His work alone. Yes, we are complete in Him. If you will go into the internet and type in a UTube for this song you will have a lot show up for you to listen to and you can share with them.
When you read this complete chapter in the Bible you can see why the Holy Spirit is telling us about our being complete in Him. We along with all of mankind can lay out all sorts of things that we need to do to be complete in our God and if we are not careful we can find ourselves doing things that have already been done by our loving Savior.
“So let no one judge you in food or in drink, or regarding a festival or a new moon or Sabbaths, which are a shadow of things to come, but the substance is of Christ……Do not touch, do not taste, do not handle, which all concern things which perish with the using – according to the commandments and doctrines of men. These things indeed have an appearance of wisdom in self-imposed religion, false humility, and neglect of the body, but are of no value against the indulgence of the flesh.” Colossians 2:16-17, 21-23
Again, if we are really open to the Love of our God we need to truly believe and praise our loving God that we are complete in Him. Not by works of our righteousness, but by His love, mercy and grace and His works of righteousness.
Have a great loving Christmas this week. Praise God that He did send His Son here to the earth as a baby to begin with and when He returned Him He was able to tell the Father that we are all complete in Him through the works of righteousness that He did for us.
Glory! Blessings, Homer and Ruby Owen
