The final Jubilee actually began on the Day of Atonement in the past fall of 2015. The new year for Israel began on September 15th. Praise God that our New Year begins tomorrow here in America. There have been 40 complete Jubilee cycles following Christ’s death. Yes, this is very interesting to look at the number in the Bible and the heart of our God. 40 is a very important number.
King David reigned 40 years as King in Israel. When Jesus went to heaven he took over the throne of David.

“And behold, you will conceive in your womb and bring forth a Son, and shall call His name Jesus. He will be great, and will be called the Son of the Highest: and the Lord God will give Him the throne of His father David. And He will reign over the house of Jacob forever, and His kingdom there will be on end.” Luke 1:31-33
David reigned as king on earth for actually 40 ½ years. Jesus will reign as king in heaven for 40 ½ Jubilees. There is much history about this in the Bible and if you want to study it you can go on the internet and type in Jubilee. It is not an easy learning process, but it is very important for us to grasp where we are at. This most likely is the last Jubilee that we are actually living in right now.
The Jubilee clock began ticking in 1416 BC when the children of Israel entered Canaan. The first Jubilee was 49 years later in 1367. Every 49 years another Jubilee has occurred and we are in the 70th Jubilee. History is interesting for us. The 50th year is the year of Jubilee. Glory!
What a gorgeous picture the Jubilee gives us for the freedom and liberty under the reign of our Lord and Savior the King of Kings. Actually He is our Jubilee. We can expect great things to take place in 2016. Yes, again say the year of Jubilee. When we see the 49th year finished we can say with great words what Jesus said on the Cross. “IT IS FINISHED”.
Aren’t you glad for what He brought forth three days after it was finished? The object of the year of Jubilee is liberty. This is the 40th Jubilee after the dearth of Christ. Be at peace with your Lord and Savior tomorrow as we begin the New Year knowing that He is excited about returning soon to bring forth a good ruling here on this earth for a thousand years. Expect to be blessed in all that you are doing in your walk with Jesus.
