BREATHING PROPERLY

“The words that I speak to you are Spirit, and they are Life.” John 6:63
Years ago after having an accident I had to go to a local physician for a checkup and as you know the first thing they do is check your blood pressure. The doctor told me that my pressure was too high and she gave me a prescription for pills to work on my blood pressure. After leaving the office I began to pray for God’s wisdom and I hear His words in my inner man.
“Homer, get on the internet and google in about natural cure for blood pressure.” So, I did this simple instruction. The first thing that appeared was also simple. “Breathing deeply to lower your blood pressure.” The instruction that came with this statement was to breathe deeply and let your breath out slowly. Do this for ten minutes and then rest a few minutes and check your blood pressure. Do this daily for your blood pressure.
I had checked my pressure before breathing deeply and it was 150 over 110. After breathing deeply for 10 minutes and resting a few minutes I checked my pressure again. It was 130 over 85. Glory! Last night I did this again and my pressure is now 122 over 73. Yes, Glory! Again.
It is interesting to have a scientific knowledge of the workings of our bodies, but it is more interesting to put our trust in the maker of our bodies and be willing to cry out to Him for His direction. The Lord truly wants us to put our trust in Him and to have our life in the Holy Spirit. Let me suggest that you breathe deeply some and see what happens. Remember that when God created Adam He breathed into his nostrils the breath of life and Adam became a living being. (Genesis 2:7)
Guess what? When Jesus was resurrected from the dead He came into the room where His disciples were and He spoke to them “Peace be with you.” Then He breathed on them , and said to them, “Receive the Holy Spirit.” (John 20:19-21)
“The words that I speak to you are Spirit, and they are Life.” (John 6:63) Glory!
