There Shall Be a Time of Troubles

Everywhere we turn on the world scene we see times of trouble upon the waters of the nations. Dan 12:1. Troubles of all sorts are facing all of us and so it is with all peoples upon earth. There are senseless killings of children, famines, wars and rumors of wars on every side. Israel is being attacked and Egypt is in the grip of Muslims by a deceptive leader. There are economic and natural disasters, and a flood of filth like has never been upon earth before. The exploitation of children in every form has gripped earth’s people with evil on a scale we have never known. The recent massacre of 20 innocent school children and 6 adults in Connecticut sounds a clear alarm concerning the escalation of evil acts upon little children. The cry of a broken hearted mother losing her child has become a daily happening in the world news.
Many are asking, “What is happening to our world?” The Bible is very clear what is happening. We have entered into God’s prophetic plan for the end times upon earth. We are in a time of great troubles as “never was since there was a nation even to that same time”. It says in Daniel 12:1 “and at that time thy people shall be delivered, everyone that shall be found written in the book.” The book Daniel is talking about is the Book of Life. This is the most important book spoken about in the Bible. Is your name written in the book of life?
Many have questions concerning God. “Where is God in all this Does He care? How can a God who loves us let little children suffer? God is in this with us, He has never left us nor forsaken us and He will never relax His hand upon our lives. Heb 13:5. Even in the midst of the tragically 20 dead children in Connecticut one was miraculously spared by using wisdom that I believe God gave. The child played dead. Though thought to be dead by the killer that child lives!
Never before in all our years of ministry, have we prayed with so many godly parents who are heart broken over their children. Many are turning against their parents in preparation for the fulfillment of prophesy in the end times. Mt 10:21. The boy that killed those 20 children in Connecticut first shot and killed his mother.
Prophetically in the Bible a time was foretold that little children would be slain in Ramath while the authorities were looking for Jesus. That was a prophetic word that came from God, He allowed this to happen. “Thus saith the LORD; A voice was heard in Ramah, lamentation, and bitter weeping; Rahel weeping for her children refused to be comforted for her children, because they were not. “ Jer 31:15. That Scripture holds close resemblance to what is happening today as we await the return of Jesus Christ to earth. The children are the main target of the suffering on earth. Children are the ones that Satan is after. I have a friend that works in the arena of world trafficking of children. Over 1.2 million children are trafficked each year in the world. It is the fastest growing crime in the world. I don’t know why children are allowed to suffer, but I do know that God sees it and cares and is working in their behalf as we pray.
The Bible says that we are to cast our cares upon Him for He cares for us. I Pet 5:7. Never before have I seen so many people burdened down with cares. The cares of the world are heavy; Jesus tells us to take His yoke upon us because it is easy and His burden is light. He instructs us to learn from Him so we will have rest in our souls. Mt 11:29, 30.
God alone knows better than any the heart of man and the evil he can think up. Gen 6:5; Mt 15:19. Only in Christ are our hearts cleansed and we are released from the holds of evil that try to control our minds and ways. Heb 10:22.
We have a song that we sing in our church and after our nightly family prayer time. It goes like this: “Show me your ways that I may walk in them, show me your ways, I put my trust in You, the cry of my heart is to know You more, to live with the touch of Your hand, stronger each day, show me Your ways.”
Right now we are looking to the Lord to show us His way for we know that He has a ranch with a large home for us to raise the 12 children that we currently have at home. He has brought them to us in hard times and He will lead the way for their care. These are not the times to take on extra expenses, but God has called us to keep opening our hearts and home to children who have been adopted internationally by families and then for one reason or another they are no longer able to be parented by that family. We know beyond a doubt that this is the way that God would have us walk during these times and He always provides everything we need in one way or another. Many times it comes with a knock at our door and something needed is left. As you look to Him He will provide for you to accomplish what He has called you to do. He will show you the way if you will simply put your trust in Him and keep your eyes on Him. The way through this time of troubles is found in the Bible.
Is God still there? Yes, God is still here and completely in charge of earth’s happenings. One friend said recently, “He is so quiet; I don’t hear or see Him doing anything in this situation.” Just because God is quiet and you cannot hear doesn’t mean He isn’t answering your prayers. Many times He has suddenly broken into a situation that I have been praying about for a long time with absolutely no outward results in sight. But in the quiet God has been working. One brother and his family in China whom I stayed with suddenly gave their lives to the Lord three years ago. They had been wonderful friends to me, but were raised without God. I gave them a Bible on one of my trips into China and reasoned with them through the Scriptures during my stay in their home to no avail. Some seven years later I received an email from this family telling me how they all have come to Jesus and what joy they have. We never know what God is doing, we only need to trust that as we pray He hears and answers in His way and in His time. Maybe it won’t be when or the way we think it should be answered, but His answers are always the best.
As a child my father was killed during a test flight on an airplane he was working on. Some would look at that as a pure tragedy. I was the only Christian in my family at that time. I shared the Lord with my dad before he was killed and begged him to give his heart to Jesus. My hopes were high when he heard Billy Graham speak at the base where he worked just before he was killed, but still there was no conversion. When he was killed my family turned to the Lord one by one. I often have thought that God knew and allowed him to be removed him so that the others could be saved.
A while back I saw a vision while in worship. It was a picture of the people of God who are following Jesus in their lives. In the vision we were standing before a great sea viewing a sea of filth upon earth as a great evil before us that we need to cross over to get to Heaven. As Moses stood before the Red Sea, Jesus in the vision now stands before the sea of filth upon the earth. He is parting the waters for those who will walk in His footsteps and who will keep their eyes upon Him.
In the vision an important part was this. I saw each believer reaching out to those all around and taking their hands and walking through the waters with them. I saw many children taking the hands of the believers and those children multiplied into a great company of believers. I believe that God is saying that there will be an end time awakening of many and most will be children.
Now is the time that the people of the Lord will shine in the midst of the sea of filth and violence upon earth. “And they that are wise shall shine as the brightness of the firmament; and they that turn many to righteousness as the stars for ever and ever.” Dan 12:2. We will walk through this with Jesus, keeping our eyes upon Him and not looking to the right or left as we walk through the high walls that will part before us.
The most important question still remains, is your name written in the Book of Life?
