Time is on your Side

I have been thinking recently about how valuable time is. Too often, while working for the Kingdom we let time slip past us. I have heard people say that “time is their enemy”, but that is not true. God gives us time so that we can fulfill His will on the earth. When we value each moment time is on our side!

John 7:6: Jesus came back at them, "Don''t crowd me. This isn''t my time. It''s your time - it''s always your time; you have nothing to lose.”

The Greek definition of the word “time” in this passage is defined as “kairos”, which means “opportunity”. If we set our mind on the things above (His Kingdom), we are told that our time will always have opportunity! It won’t be necessary to say “I don’t have enough time” again. In eternity there is no time. When we release the Kingdom of God on earth as it is in heaven, then eternity redeems the time. When our time is filled with the Spirit, redemption reclaims it. Colossians 4:5 Walk in wisdom toward those who are outside, redeeming the time.

This text is telling us that as we walk by the Spirit (in Wisdom) toward those who are outside (in the world), that our time will constantly be redeemed. Supernatural time carries divine appointments so that we always live in an appointed time. When we look at our circumstances, we lose opportunity. We begin to forget that our problem can be redeemed. While this is true for the worldly, it is not so for those in the Kingdom. In the Kingdom all things are possible in the Spirit because of the redemption of time. A fuller definition of “redeemed” means to rescue from loss!

Time comes in three forms: past, present, and future time. What we do in the present determines our past and future. How we walk in the present will determine how our past looks. In other words our present activity will be recorded as a testimony in our past. But our present activity is determined by how we see our future. God gives us vision so that we can see His future. When our present actions are His will for us, we walk toward the future now in a kairos time (time of opportunity).

2 Corinthians 6:2 for he says, "At an acceptable time I listened to you, In a day of salvation I helped you." Behold, now is the acceptable time. Behold, now is the day of salvation. In other words, now is always the time to receive God’s grace. That in the Kingdom, time is an opportunity to redeem something lost, and that time is always creative. There is no loss in eternity. Time is always on your side!
